May 15, 2022 – Tourism Minister Nikolina Brnjac and Jadrolinija board representatives have met as the peak of the summer tourist season is fast approaching.

Like Morsky writing, representatives of the board of Jadroilinija recently met at the National and University Library in Zagreb with the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Nikolina Brnjac. The meeting took place as we are now approaching the main part of the tourist year, and Minister Brnjac commented on the current tourist results and expectations for the main summer season.

”The beginning of 2022 showed an increase in the number of passengers and vehicles carried on both domestic and international lines compared to the same period in 2021. Participating in several tourism events, increased interest in our lines has been noticed, so we are very optimistic about the recovery of the market and the return of group tourist trips,” said the chairman of the board of directors of Jadrolinija during the meeting.

”The results so far testify that this year we have prepared well and taken all necessary activities to strengthen and improve Croatia’s position as a desirable tourist destination with a high quality and diverse offer. It is even more important that our source markets increasingly recognize Croatia as a year-round destination, which is an important element in the development of the sustainability of Croatian tourism.

When we talk about the value of tax receipts issued for the first four months of this year, we can be very satisfied because on average, each month recorded an increase of 10% compared to the same period before the 2019 pandemic ”, said Minister Nikolina Brnjac, adding that she believes that these good results should continue throughout the summer season of 2022, when we will achieve 70% of the total tourist traffic of 2019 and 63% of the total income of the same year .

Representatives of the tourism sector said that demand for Croatia has been extremely good, that the country is one of the main holiday destinations in its main source markets and that they believe that this summer season will continue to give good results thanks to continued cooperation between the Croatian Government and the sector as a whole.

According to the tax administration, in the first four months of 2022, a total of 5 billion and 457 million kuna in tax revenue was made, which is 170% more than in the same period last year, and by compared to the first four months of 2019, the value is at an encouraging level of 11% higher.
