Amaravati, November 24: The Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday passed the AP Cinemas (Regulation) (Amendment) 2021 bill as well as the AP Motor Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) 2021 bill and four other bills that were presented earlier.
The minister said the government has decided to introduce a transparent online ticketing system similar to APSRTC, the Indian Railways’ online ticketing system to control tax evasion and improve the cinema experience in the state. . The proposed online ticketing system allows the public to book tickets via mobile phones without queuing in theaters or burning their pockets buying tickets in black.
Later, during the presentation of the PA’s Motor Vehicle Tax Bill 2021, Minister Perni Nani said the amendment was part of the Center’s recommendation for a green tax to protect the environment. carbon emissions. According to the bill, in the case of transport vehicles which are 7 to 10 years old from the date of registration, a green tax of Rs 4000, or half of the quarterly tax per year, will be levied. Likewise, if the age is 10 to 12 years Rs 5000 per year will be levied and if the vehicle is over 12 years old Rs 6000 per year will be levied.
In addition to the green tax, there is an increase in the tax on new vehicles which is 1% on vehicles which cost less than Rs 5 lakhs and 3% on vehicles which cost between Rs 10-20 lakhs, and on luxury vehicles costing more than Rs 20 lakhs, a total tax of 18% will be imposed.
In addition to these, Andhra Pradesh State Educational Institutions Bill 2021 (Teachers Reservations), Andhra Pradesh Agricultural Land Bill 2021 ( conversion for non-agricultural purposes) (amendment), the Andhra Pradesh Universities Bill 2021 (Amendment) and the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological Universities Bill 2021 (amendment) were passed.
