Tax evasion, beware of new checks on bank cards and current accounts: everything you need to know

As we have already seen some time ago, there are gods movements to which particular attention must be paid, because in these cases the Revenue Agency could consider you as tax evaders. But not only that, soon the Revenue Agency will be able to carry out cross-checks on current accounts and credit cards, always with the aim of being able to find tax evaders.

A specific order from the Ministry of the Economy will define the operating procedures for the new checks on current accounts and credit cards. A decree which was already planned for March 2021 and which should find the light by the end of March 2022. For the green light, in fact, it was necessary to wait for the green light from privacy guarantor.

According to the first rumors, it seems that the new checks will be carried out thanks to thecross-referencing of databases. To this end, two databases will be created: one containing a list of taxpayers classified according to risk and propensity to evade, while the other will serve as a control.

However, this algorithm, based on what has been pointed out by the privacy guarantor, must be able to protect the sensitive information interested parties.

To this end, the Ministry of the Economy will therefore have to specify which databases it intends to consult. But not only, the checks will take place on quasi-anonymous posts. To trace the real identities, in fact, it will be necessary to add additional information, kept separately and which can only be used if necessary to carry out a Check.

Indeed, in the event that risk parameters are identified, it is possible that the Revenue Agency will pursue theverification activities. The latter, it should be remembered, also provides for the sending of letters of compliance aimed at promoting spontaneous regularization by the subject under control.
