The Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion developer has apologized for a patch that failed to fix several game-breaking issues with the Xbox console version of the game.
Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion launched in Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass in April, and while the PC version of the game is pretty much flawless, there are numerous issues with the Xbox One version, including two achievements (Destroyer of the World and ???) which simply won’t unlock in the console version.
Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion Developer Unable to Fix Xbox Problems
While some players have managed to play the game without issue on Xbox (minus achievements), others in our forums are reporting that they lose progress, game performance will suddenly drop to around 15fps, and that it freezes and crashes randomly. Now developer Snoozy Kazoo has provided an update on the Xbox version and apologized for not being able to implement any fixes.
“We have attempted to release a new hotfix to address existing issues,” Snoozy Kazoo said on Twitter. “This did not go as planned and has since been cancelled. We are still working hard to resolve these issues and hope to hear more news soon. We are extremely sorry for the delay.”
Several fixes for Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion have been rolled out over the months, but they don’t appear to have resolved any of the major issues players are facing. As it stands, the game has reverted to version 1.0. In June, Snoozy Kazoo said that the Graffiti Games porting team is rewriting the Xbox version from the ground up.
Hopefully we’ll get a patch for the Xbox port soon, because Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion is a great action-adventure game full of character and humor. If you have PC Game Pass, we highly recommend checking it out because it’s loads of fun! For those on console, it’s best to wait for a patch to roll out.
Have you encountered any of the issues listed above? Are you still waiting for a fix for these two achievements? Let us know.
